CLOSING THE GAP – 02/21/05

Is It Really the End? Really?

So, it is now less than a week from shooting. Which means we will have a complete beginning, middle, and end to our feature film in just six days. You all followed though, good for you. I look forward to our Premiere Party coming late summer 2005. I look forward to seeing you all there.

I have other good news. As of midnight, this Tuesday going into Wednesday I will make a major purchase. I will be making a $774 purchase from the online Apple Store. There was a computer I wanted for editing the film which $1300 just several months ago. I was frustrated not being able to afford it then, but hey we are living in the future. I just wish that when we were making movies back in high school, we could have had such an amazing machine for such a reasonable price. But not having it has made me more creative, and now I’m facing a point in my life where I have a ludicrous amount of freedom. Here’s the basic layout for the Mac Mini – G4 … http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?family=Macmini

This shoot is a major victory. It means many of you are done…sort of. I guess what I am saying is, be ready to be approached by me in the next 8 months and be prepared to reread some of your dialogue into a microphone.

There are some great moments I still need to get with just Steve this spring or summer – it could all be done in one night. As well as some daylight footage in Waterbury with Dave. Also, of all the great footage we shoot this summer, the one area of the film that really concerns me is THE FINAL BATTLE. Remember shooting the final battle? I do, ‘cause it was a really shitty experience. It was hot, bug infested. We were all sick and tired of making the damned movie. And as good as most of the footage came out for that sequence, there is some that I fear is unusable, as well as all the stuff we needed but didn’t have time to get. Maybe it can work, maybe not. But I would like to plant the seed of going back to do it again later this year. Like a solid weekend in June or July of 2005.

The people who would be needed; Dave, Chris, Matt, Mike Manna, Neil, Steve, Ed, Rich, Nelson A., Mike Bennett, Nikki, Rob Iulo, Randy, and dare I say…Adrian? It would also help if everyone one could be there at the same time. And we had the same rested, well planned, positive vibe from our January shoot. Let me know what you think.

And how about discussing these items at our lonesome message board

I will be sending you script pages Monday evening. See you all real soon. ED
