in the role of Brooks Paladin

I moved from Alaska to Los Angeles in 1998 with plans to replace Harrison Ford as the most common house-hold name in action adventure films. I showed up and asked showbusiness "Can you kick MY ass?" And the answer was yes. A very resounding yes.

I learned humility through working as a tour guide at the Paramount Studio lot, learned how movie sets work through being an extra, and learned stand-up comedy at the Ha-Ha Cafe in North Hollywood.

I've learned that it's called "breaking in" to show business because every ounce of progress I've made (and beleive me, it's measured in ounces) has happened when I break all the rules, cross every line and do that which nobody else was balsy enough to even think of. And sometimes that doesn't even work but freakish behavior is not only tolerated around here, it's encouraged. With that in mind making movies feels like home.
